Soap Box Derby Essay Contest Update: Not 1 essay has been received to date.
Much discussion was spent on the Parks Dept. budget and what dollar amounts were proposed for various events for 2004-2005. If more movies are requested less money will be allocated for music. Unless more corporate sponsors are sought, movies are approximately $500.00 per night. Mike & Jerry will schedule a meeting with Jim Loperfido of Auburn Cinefile Society to see if he is still willing to sponsor movie night.
The commission also hopes to see music in the city moved around to accommodate the growing popularity of the summer events. It is thought the new State Street Park opening in Summer of 2004 will be a venue. Keeping music at Hoopes Park to no more than 3 nights per week.
Jerry requested a monthly calendar of events be provided by Mike Talbot.
